Cities need to invest in building an “umbrella” infrastructure to coordinate and manage a truly comprehensive social compact. This kind of effort must be organized by a designated existing organization to coordinate the work and commit to sustained involvement.
SFSA is taking this leadership role in supporting SFUSD to create a system where one step prepares every child for the next: from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade and beyond. SFSA works with SFUSD on projects that focus on the core of what our city’s young people need, the high-quality education necessary to graduate high school and go to college or start a career, so they can earn a fair living and contribute to the future of our city.
SFUSD relies on the School Alliance’s support to achieve these significant results and we need your help more than ever. As we become stronger, we facilitate the district’s becoming stronger. The School Alliance must continue to be efficient, effective and nimble to carry on the critical reform work needed to make San Francisco’s public schools great.
